Our goal is to conduct in-house pesticide, terpene, and potency tests on the distillate we produce, solely for quality assurance purposes. To expand our capabilities, we purchased a 5973N MS, a split/splitless inlet, an ECD, an aux EPC, and a 3-way splitter, aiming to configure the system to run detectors either independently or in tandem.
However, we encountered issues when installing components on any heating zones besides the front inlet and detector. Initially, I installed the S/SL on the back inlet while keeping the PP on the front. Although the system detects the S/SL on the back inlet, it doesn’t allow us to control the temperature, displaying "Temp Not installed" where the temperature setting should be. The same issue occurs with the back detector.
When we connected the Aux Temp Zone/Valve Box Cable and hooked up the MS, it didn’t heat up either. Upon checking, we found that the resistance in these zones was 'dead' – showing no resistance or voltage.
It’s perplexing that the heating zones, which were apparently never used, are non-functional, whereas the front inlet and detector zones work perfectly.
Could there be a setting or jumper configuration to activate these zones, or are they indeed non-functional? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
