Waters 486 Failure Code 401

I have had this detector for about 6 years (purchased used). I had to change the lamp about a year later, and it has run perfectly since. This morning, I had to power it off to change out a UPS; and when I turned it back on, it started clicking when it went into calibration step and ended with a Fail 401 error. I have a feeling that the problem is with the monochromator drive. Fortunately, I have another working 486 to substitute, although the sample and reference energy is low. I'm not without an instrument. Is this an easy fix?

Thank you,

John

As I remember , there is a button lithium cell on the electronic board , which stores the calibration value.

You may replace it , and make the calibration again.
Fill the flow cell with fresh acetonitrile , before calibration.
