Question about EPA 552.3 HAA5 GC-ECD Method

I have a quick question about the HAA method and doing a dilution. In the method it states that I can dilute the extract with the MTBE with the internal standard. When I run the diluted sample how would I account for the increased concentration of the internal standard? Or would the increased concentration not even make a difference if for example I do a 1:3 dilution with a final volume of 0.6mL?

Any help with this will be appreciated!

You are diluting a solution with a concentration of say 10ppb internal standard with another solution with a concentration of 10ppb so the concentration of that analyte would remain the same while any other analyte would be reduced in concentration by the dilution factor.

That is the beauty of the method as far as dilutions are concerned.
