Our 5890 dual-ECD may need to be retired. I'm thinking of getting a 6890 and putting two new ECDs on it. I'm not sure how all the rad licensing stuff works. Do they have to be purchase from Agilent or are there other vendors who can sell them and transfer the license? Know any good ones?
eBAY, Amazon, for example...
It's important to consider the licensing and vendor options when upgrading your equipment. You may want to reach out to Agilent for information on purchasing the new ECDs and transferring the licenses. Additionally, it's a good idea to explore other vendors like amazon, ebay, and any dealer to compare prices and services. Research thoroughly to make an informed decision.
Also remember these can only be shipped by someone with a license for radioactive materials. We had to send ours back to Agilent or off to a licensed refurb facility then have them ship to the new address when we moved location of our lab. If not the NRC or local state group gets very annoyed if you just move them yourself. That is why I would be careful buying them from Ebay or Amazon.
The past is there to guide us into the future, not to dwell in.
