Fixing old spectrophotometers

You might have noticed a lot of old spectrophotometers and other instruments on Ebay. I collected a lot of information and put it on this website:
http://antiquesci.50webs.com/index.htm
I got a Perkin Elmer 337 and 727 (IR) working, but they might need new detectors for better resolution. I got a Coleman 124 (UV/VIS) working, too. I recently picked up a Beckman model 25 UV/VIS spectrophotometer, but the deuterium lamp doesn't light. Does anyone here have a schematic and/or manual?
Also see

for articles and books on spectroscopy, polarimetry, etc.

Hi,
I might have one snce I am from Beckman. We recently closed down our main headquarters in Fullerton CA and got a lot of old stuff out of it. One of the docs I scanned might be this manual. Email me at
stev434@hotmail.com with DU 25 spec as the subject line and will get back with you.

I actively use a Fisher Spectronic 20D with rotating knobs for blanking, and changing wavelength.

Perkin Elmer 337 update.
Better capacitors and twin T filter improves performance.

Thanks for the update. I have two Perkin Elmer 337's. Here's a before picture showing the Bumblebee and Black Beauty capacitors you replaced.
