CI interface tip seal & gold plate seal :?:

My lab has one GC/MS (Agilent 6980/5973N with 7683 injector) that it does not have the CI interface tip seal 
. In the last days I detected an leak. I wanted to know if the leak can be cause of that. 
The gold plate seal is an general cause of leaks?
