Hi

I'm looking for a compund (or several) to use as quality control in a PerkinElmer clarus 500 system (GCMS). I use THF as a solvent which seem to overtime degrade most of my analytes. However I need a control solution to keep on stock (cooled) that is very stable and gives several peaks (5-10) over the GC elution (method can be setup to run this control). The column is a DB-5 which should accept most compounds.

So - anyone know any good compunds for a stable (~six months at least) control solution? Preferably commonly available or cheap.. I would prefer a solvent with a low gas volume (currently injecting 2,5µL THF into a ~900µL liner)

I would make a alkan standard. Very stable and you can use it for a long time.
