Hello,

I work in academia and my team is currently trying to bring a Thermo LTQ-Orbitrap back to life. The instrument had been turned off sometime in 2020 and since then it has just been sitting in a random lab collecting dust. We were able to restart the turbo pumps but now that it has pumped down and baked we are receiving the following error:

"no OrbiSPI contact to FT TMPC board"

Clearly the error is something about the FT mechanism for the Orbi, but we have absolutely no clue what "TMPC" means in this context. I have not been able to find anything useful in the Thermo manuals or in other forums online. We have not done anything else to the instrument besides restart the turbos, although we are not sure what was done to the instrument prior to us starting to work on it.

Does anyone have any information on what this error could mean?

Thanks in advance!
six months ago, someone started something similar:

Thanks! We were able to get it working by examining and correcting the wiring for the linear ion trap
