According to EPA method 606, for the determination of Bis(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate by gas chromatography, grab sample bottle employed is amber glass, fitted with a screw cap lined with Teflon, PTFE. ¿Is this cap suitable in terms of possible DEHP leaching? ¿Better bottles to be used?

Thank you in advance.

I believe that DEHP = DOP = bis-(2-ethylhexyl)-phthalate

When I worked in the pharmaceutical industry (back in the day), these were synonyms.

Yes, that's right, DEHP equals Bis(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate.

So what's the problem? If the method says use that glass bottle and those caps for the sampling, then it should be suitable. I guess I'm not understanding your question.

The teflon seals should be ok and not leach phthalates into the sample. Polyethylene seals would possibly leach and that is why teflon is suggested.
