Problems with Dimethyl Sufoxide

Dear members of the list,

I have a problem with a solvent to HPLC. It is Dimethyl Sulfoxide. It has problems with the Transmitance and I do not know what are the reasons. I do not know if it is the content of water or the content of dimethyl sulfone. I do not have an spectrum of dimethyl sulfone in order to know the signal at certain wavelengths. I suppose, the dimetryl sulfoxide has a secondary product (owing to its high higroscopicity) which it is problem but I do not know.
I would appreciate any help in order to find a response to my problem.
Thanks in advance for your help,

Diego Delmonte

We are not sure what your problem is, and how you decided that you have a problem. Please descibe your observations in more detail!

(My wild guess at this moment is that DMSO is your injection solvent and that it creates a giant peak at the same retention time as your unretained peak. This can be explained and solved.)
