Dear Chromatographers.

We are facing this problem when trying to run VOCs analysis by HS-GC/MS/MS:
" ERROR: DCOMM must be off to change the IP address"
The IP of 7697A, observed in 7697 display, is 192.168.254.013 but in the 7890 display is 192.168.001.010.
Furthermore, the GC is "contacting Headspace" with no result.
The IP of MS is 192.168.254.12 and de GC's IP is 192.168.254.11.

What is the DCOMM y how can we set to off?

Best regards.

You probably need all the instruments to be on the same subnet, which means that the xxx.yyy.zzz.124 where the x y and z numbers must be the same and the last three digits are unique to each instrument. It looks as if the HS is on a different subnet and that is what is causing the communication problem. The computer running them also has to be setup the same way.

If the instruments are on a separate subnet than the house server then you normally need two network cards in the controlling computer with one address matching the server and the other matching the instruments.

Thank you James.

The support personnel had to reinstall the firmware because there was no way to modify one of the IP.

Best regards.
