Standalone with HP 5890 II and 7673 Autosampler possible?

Hello,

is it possible to operate a HP 5890 II with 7673 in standalone mode completely without computer/integrator?

I'm trying to set up a GC taken from a former GC-MS system working with a PC over GPIB. It should now work as GC-FID together with the sampler but without a PC connected to it, just using the analogue output and an A/D converter.

I've read about the INET protocoll, but all examples are with either PC or integrator connected. The GC displays System Not Ready all the time. I can inject manually and press start, everything is working, but I want to use the sampler which has a standalone setting described in the handbook.

Has anyone running it this way?

Thanks,
Gerd

Using the Clear - Dot commands I've set the GC to Local, it is now "Ready".
But the AS doesn't start if I press the start button.

Press START on AS
I did, but nothing happens...
Maybe i'm wrong, but start state must be GLOBAL.
Addresses should be different.
Loop state must be OK.

I've read a little more, INET requires a controller, either integrator or PC, so this
doesn't work.
There must be another connection between ALS and GC.

Did I miss this, or do you have the autosampler control box installed ?

The control box is installed, I have several of them. Connected to tray and injector and GPIB, but without PC GPIB is useless.
I found a manual online where a cable #18594-60570 is described, but the controller has no other ports.

OK, to make it short:
it works using an AS controller box with APG port and a cable to connect to the remote port of the HP5890 II.
GPIB or INET are not suitable for standalone mode.
