Debug modus

Have others received that window that their message was rejected, because of virus or spam content? From the double messages which have appeared recently, I judge that this is the case. This statement appears even though ones message has been accepted, usually.

I've seen that a few times lately. Very frustrating when it leads to a double post. I've begun ignoring the error message and waiting to see if my post appears. It always has.

I've noticed it as well. The board also seems a lot slower then usual.

That "debug" message comes and goes. I've seen it perhaps three times, but I couldn't get it to repeat consistently.

The same holds for the slow access. I just ran into it this morning: access was fine, then nothing for about 15 minutes (during which other sites loaded just fine), and now it's back to normal.

The issue in both cases is the intermittent nature of the problem, which makes it *very* hard to diagnose & fix

The "Debug mode" problem is coming threads where one or more of the posters has requested e-mail notification of posts to the thread. If the service provider's outgoing e-mail server does not send the message for whatever reason, it generates an error code and the debug message. I can only surmise that the service provider's system is mis-flagging some of the notifications as either spam or virus. What I don't understand is why the problem arises only occasionally :? .

The good news is that the error is generated *after* the message has been posted, so the short-term solution is to simply ignore it and return to the Forum.

Possible long-term solutions:
- I can go in and disable the e-mail notification function, but that means that you will no longer be able to get e-mail notifications of responses to posts.
- I can go in and disable error checking, but I don't want to implement that unless/until I'm sure that it won't allow a serious problem to crash the whole system.
