hi
during some cleaning operation I created a new datasource into directory of old one and disconnect old... the result is all old sequences lost. there is method and report, the system see the files but cannot manage sequence. The system halt me when i tried to reconnect datasource because the folder contain already a dsource (system views only new not older)
My question is: is there a way to manage externally chromeleon database to try data recovery?
Someone has experienced similar issue?
Thank you very much

Hi,
I have no experience of your problem. I thought Chromeelon protected you from creating two datasources in the same folder.
But I wonder if the order you did was not 1) Disconnect old DataSource 2) Create New DataSource (in the same folder were the first datasouce is)? If so, then you should be able to "restore" the old datasource by:
1 Create a new folder from Explorer, here called "Folder3"
2 From Chromeleon create a new (= the third) datasource, here called "DataSource3", in the new folder, "Folder3".
3 In Chromeleon, you should be able to copy data from "DataSource2" to "DataSource3".
4 In Chromeleon, disconnect "DataSource2"
5 In Chromeleon, connect to the first datasource (that is in the same Explorer folder as "DataSource2".

Hope it helps.
Be very careful so you don't lose data!

is it possible that you created the new DS folder not in the same folder but in another DS folder?
if yes then you might have a "conflict" between the MDB files.

this can create a problem for the software. speak to local support, you will probably need to turn the data source protection to solve this. but i caution you not to do this alone, do it only with someone that knows what to do because you might really loose all your data.

anyway backup the drive before any thing else before tempering with the data
