Steroids by LC-MSMS and QuECHERS extraction

Hello my friends, my name is Sergio maquilon..
I am actually interested in the analysis of steroids, but i've heard about the new extraction method called QuECHERS that is cheaper than the regural methods..

Could anyone help me with some of these applications.

Was Steve LeHotay's name (Quick, Easy, Cheap, Reliable, Safe) for his pesticide extraction and analysis method. It's (in its simplest form) just an acetonitrile extraction with a bit of cleanup/drying, depending on final instrument. I don't know that the pesticide version has ever been tried for steroids. There are lots of steroid methods out there to choose from. I'd start with one of them.

I'm not sure Steven Lehotay invented the name, AFAIK Anastassiades also claims it his invention, but anyhow. Since its developement in 2003 the method has been improved and modified to suite several kinds of analytes and matrices. Main focus is still pesticides, but look here (http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/18473210) for a steroid application.
A good place to look for new developements of the method are the presentations of the annual Florida Pesticide Workshop (http://www.flworkshop.com/archives.php). There is at least one presentation about Quechers each year.
