GC Clarus 590 flow rate change from PSI to ml/m

Hello,
We have a Perkin Elmer Clarus 590 GC-FID instrument with manual pneumatics and it has been running well. Recently we loaded a new method and the flowrate changed from psi to ml/m. When this happened, we noticed the flow rate spiked to 1400 ml/m immediately and we noticed a rushing sound through the instrument. We stopped the flow immediately. Now, when we tried to run an analysis at a 1.2 ml/m, we did not see any peaks. Also, we tried to update the TotalChrom software, but it did not revert back to psi.

We would appreciate any advice or suggestions on how to overcome this problem.

You can't measure flowrate in psi. Your mL/min unit is the right unit for measuring flowrate.

Yes, but in the case of this instrument which has manual pneumatics, flow rate was displayed as psi. We always calculated the equivalent psi to intended flow rate for the column attached to the instrument.

We fixed the problem. the configuration in the instrument somehow changed on its own.
