Happy New Year everyone! We are considering buying a LEAP CombiPAL CTC sampler to install on our 7890 GC in order to perform headspace analysis. I was wondering if anyone out there can provide feedback on the LEAP Sampler as far as likes and dislikes go. Thanks in advance for your input.

I know of three in routine use in our company. Two are workhorses, no problems. The third was replaced with a Tekmar due to persistent needle breakage problems. I prefer the style of HS that ties into the gas line instead of the CombiPal with the needle injection through the septum. Just personal opinion.

We have three Combi-PALs in my department as well. The bending of needles is probably due to set up or an issue with the "bungees". If one is aware of the issues, they are easy to address. One issue I have with all three of mine (in addition to the bungees wearing out) is the tubing for the syringe flush. The tubing will work it's way our of it's track and get kinked by the wheels for the arm. It is a good idea to keep a repair kit for the bungees and the tubing on hand.

We also have two of the Tekmar HT3s on hand. We dumped a 7000 six years ago, to go with the Combi-PALs.
