Hi all,

In general, what solvent is best used for storing an ion exchange column?

You don’t trust the guidelines provided by the manufacturer?

danko, perhaps he doesn't have the manufacturer's guidelines in hand, or they are very generic.

thohry - call your column manufacturer to get specific guidelines. The generic advice is usually to store in mobile phase for the short-term, and for long-term to flush with water then store in a mobile phase that will inhibit microbial growth, like acn:h2o.

like acn:h2o.
Unless it's a resin-based (non-silica) column, in which case ACN/H2O may be contraindicated.

Check with the manufacturer or vendor!!
