Dionex sells expired stock

Our local agent for Dionex in Australia has sold us expired stock for both the disposable gold electrodes for the ecd detector and the reference electrode. Does anyone else have this sort of problem from Dionex? The gold electrodes have all failed within two weeks under very low sample load. We are running carbhydrates on a PA100 with 100mm NaOH buffer three to five standards and one to two samples per day. Any suggestions to improve electrode life or is this another problem with Dionex?

Did you get the electrodes directly from Dionex's Australian subsidiary or did you indeed buy from an agent?

Either way, the first thing I would do is to contact Dionex directly.

There is only one organisation to deal with here and that is called Dionex Pty Ltd who are at Unit 31 no2 Chaplin Drive, Lane Cove NSW 2066. Whether they are a part of Dionex or not is hard to tell from their profile but it looks as though it is a part of Dionex

This does not however change the fact that they sell expired stock and the system that they delivered to us is just not a good piece of gear, if they made something on Friday afternoon prior to or just after the visit to the pub, this is it. Really the worst bit of gear we have and so expensive to support. Would not recommend it to anyone for any application. There is better supported and easier to use equipment from too many others to waste time on trying to make it work.

Especially in light of your most recent post, I think the best advice is to contact Dionex corporate directly, if you have already contacted the Australian distributor without satisfaction:
