6850N IP configuration

I have a 6850N GC recently aquired by our lab. The Chemstation PC that previously controlled the 6850 has some major issues. It will not boot unless operating in safemode. I want to add the 6850 to an existing chemstation LAN. To do this, I need to change the IP address, gateway, and subnet. The manual controller has been misplaced. Is there any way to configure the IP address via chemstation rather than with the controller? I can't get bootp to see the 6850. Could upgrading the firmware help solve the problem? Is there another fix?
Thanks, Diane

Step 1. While the GC is turning on/initializing hold the LOAD button for about 5 seconds (5 dots on the screen).
Step 2. Use up/down to change values and LOAD to advance.
Step 3. Rejoice!

Can you foresee any possible reason to replace the missing manual controllers?
TIA

If you have lots of 6850s and often find yourself fiddling with methods and setting up different sequences, sure. Otherwise just use chemstation when you need to make big changes, installing it on a laptop is pretty convenient.
