MSD ChemStation and Quantitation!!

Discussions about GC-MS, LC-MS, LC-FTIR, and other "coupled" analytical techniques.

Okay, I just spent like 2 hours on this and for some reason, I can't get anything useful.

Developed a method and ran 4 calibration samples (containing one compound of interest and an internal standard). In the data analysis, I create the quantitation database (tried both the manual and the autoquant to get the same result). When I look at the values in the database, they're all there and everything looks right (takes the area of the target ion to do the calibration curve).

Run an unknown sample. Open it (same method and stuff) and if I try to generate a quantitation report, the peaks are properly identified, the database used for quantitation shows up there but the concentration always shows up as 0.000. If I run "Trace Mode Quant" instead, a bunch of windows are generated and the calculated concentration shows up in the cpnd.txt window.

WHY won't it show up in the quantitation report? Also, if I'm running 96 samples and I'd like to see these calculated concentration values all in a single file, is there an easy way to do it or one has to write a macro to dig out all the values? At worst, is there a way to export all the area values for a bunch of files to a single file (I tried a bunch in the options, but it's really not straightforward and the help files that came with the software are really not helping).

This is SO frustrating.

Thanks,

Roxanne.

Try turning off the internal standard and see if it calculates the concentration correctly, I had a similar problem when I first added an internal standard.
