Hi Everyone.

I've got a problem with chromatograms of a PL ELSD 1000 recorded with the old software of Merck Hitachi (LaChrom): D-7000 HPLC-System Manager.

Peaks recorded never reach values above 1080 mV. I already tried to change the output from the 1/10 socket to the upper socket. But nothing changed.

I thought perhaps my solvent system itself has a to high signal. Hence I observed the baseline while changing from MeOH to MeOH/AcOH/NH4Ac but the difference was 8 mV. So that's not the issue.

Does anybody know this ELSD and if 0-1000 mV is just the detection range of that thing?

I'm not familiar with that particular unit, but many of the detectors that I have used allow either 10 mV or 1 V full scale.

Ok, so you mean that the maximum recording could be at 1000mV? I will check that in the manual. Did the chromatogram change in your case if you change the socket?

I checked the connections and the Detector has a 1V and a 10V output, so that's not the point...

Are you sure the "10 V" is not "10 mV" ??

It's possible that one of the voltage outputs is already integrated by the detector, whereas the other is not. The manual should clarify.
