5890 FID assembly compatible with a 6850 GC?

Hi everyone,

We have a Agilent 6850 GC with a TCD and I would like to replace with an FID from a 5890. Does anyone know if this is compatible?

The FID assembly from the 5890 has all the connector, tubing, etc. But I'm not sure if I need a special card/signal board to make this work or if I can use the existing on the 6850 for the TCD?

No. You need the electronics that run the FID and in this case it will also probably recognize the need for an EPC specific to the FID. So no.

Looks like 6890 and 6890,6850 have the same FID
