H2 as carrier gas

I am analyze some flavours and using He as carrier gas. Can I use H2 as carrier gas? Some of my friends told me h2 may reacts with analytes and it's impossible. I disagree with that, but..
How about your ideas?

If the GC system is inert (i.e. no exposed metal and active sites) the chances of a reaction are small. What detector are you using ?. There are many previous threads on this, have a look in the archives.

We have changed a few methods from He to H2.
Benefits, shorter elution times and more cost efficient.
The only restriction we have placed on ourselves is.
Not to do this on our older Agilent 5890 only on
the newer 6890s'
More automated cut offs on gas flows should something happen to the system.

Having worked on my MsC thesis in flavour and fragance I can assure you no problem there!
