A colleague has obtained a second-hand Beckman 171 Radioisotope Detector and needs to calibrate it for Carbon 14 but does not have the calibration cell.

Would any forum members know where we could obtain or borrow one?

Thanks in advance, Tony Herlt.

Interesting, why a calibration cell? I have used a Berthold detector for some 20 years without a calibration cell. Calibration of the whole method was done as with any other detector: Run standards.

Thank you for your reply. I will pass it on to my colleagues and suggest they use some standards
