Agilent 5973 firmware upgrade

Hi,
does anybody know how to fix a firmware that became corrupted because of an unsuccessful update (some *.o files were not copied to the SC)?
The topic appeared in the past, apparently without any final solution.
Symptoms are well known: MS is stuck while rebooting, showing a 'Loading MSD firmware'. I can access the smartcard by telnet/ftp, but apparently, it lacks a "boostHost."
Thanks for any help

If you delete the instrument in MS Configuration then reinstall it, does it go through the firmware update process? I believe that is where it usually updates it and maybe that would force it to complete a new update.

Thank you James for your advice.
an MS witout a running FW does not pass the RPC test.
I guess one issue that determined a corrupted FW may be connected with the request of USER/PASS during the update:

SOLVED.
INstalled Chestatin E.02.02 and the firmware was regularly updated to 5.02.14.
The USER and PASS required remained, but the procedure completed successfully
