I have an Agilent Technologies 1260 Infinity HPLC with a DAD. I normally flow mobile phase through the cell during warm up. However,is it OK to warm up the lamp in the DAD without having mobile phase flowing through the cell? I suspect that the cell will heat up but I would like confirmation. I have looked in the Operator's Manual and completed a quick online search but have not found the answer. Thanks!
Yes it's okay to warm up the lamp without any mobile phase. The actual lamp isn't really that close to the flow cell. The flow cell will be fine.
Hello

It doesn't matter - you can have lamp on (warming it up) with or without flow cell installed.
