dear friedds:
I have some trouble in determining the noise of the GC 6890 with a Chemstation. someone told me the noise can be automately determined by the instrument, but I could not find it out, how to do that?
thank you in advance.

Are you trying to determine baseline noise, or the signal to noise ratio for a compound? There was a function in ChemStation, I think in the reporting, that allowed the calculation of signal to noise ratio. I haven't used ChemStation in 5 years, but if this is what you need I am sure some of the current users can tell you where to find it. This may be referenced in the help files in the software.

In Data Analysis select Report / System Suitability / Edit Noise Ranges

and in Specify Report select Performance + Noise in Report Style

Inject!
