Surrogate concentration

Hi

I have oil spill samples (from water column). I am planning to use GC-FID and 1,2,3-Trichlorobenzene as a surrogate to calculate recoveries (volatile losses during sample prep). But i am not sure what concentration of surrogate should i spike my samples. I will be thankful for your valuable input

Add an amount of surrogate to giev surrogate peaks approxiamtely the same size as your analyte peaks.
