GC-FID 6890 settings

I am currently trying to resurrect an Agilent 6890. I wish to decommission the back inlet and detector.

What is the best way to do this without making the instrument or Chemstation angry?

I have removed the back detector from the GC because I needed the parts. Now, I constantly get the error message "B det mismatch". Also Chemstation has not registered that it is gone. How do I go about telling Chemstation that there is no back detector, because it does not seem intuitive.

Thanks!

What version/revision of Chemstation are you using?

There is a way to do this, just I can't remember exactly. I do not believe that it would be in Configuration Editor.

I poked around in Config Editor, and you are correct. The settings cannot be changed there.

Can you turn B detector off using the front panel controls? I'd see if there are options there, and maybe disconnect electrical stuff for the back inlet and detector, and then re-start the mainframe. Like the detector circuit board is on the right side, remove the side cover and pull that board out?

If I was still working, I could explore hands-on for you !

Maybe remove the 6890 from the Configuration and then add it on again????
