Agilent 8890 with ECDs

Is anyone having reproducibility issues with 8890? This instrument is about 1.5 years and we have had so many problems with it. Service has been here twice.

1) Are these split/splitless inlets?

2) Is the problem about background level or signal level or reproducibility?
