Postcolumn infusion for evaluation of the matrix effect

hello.
Postcolumn infusion experiments usually were used for the evaluation of the matrix effect, Should I run a blank solvent sample first
and subtract the blank solvent peaks from the blank matrix peaks to evaluate the matrix effect ?

I do not exactly what set-up you use exactly post-column but if you have solvent peaks that create ion-suppression it is useful information that you should use during method development...
