Hello all

We are starting GCMS lab, and we are looking for training in the EPA 525 method.
Any idea where could we go?

Carlos
When we began I was just following the method as written using the Waters cartridges listed in the method. It is simple and well written for that.

Technique you will develop over time, learning how to control the drip rate to get a 1L sample to pass through in about two hours. Elution is a little more difficult to master, but with practice you can make it work.

We use the Supelco Visiprep manifolds, you turn the cartridge in the valve to open and close, simple setup that can be adjusted easily, also easy to clean.

One trick we learned is capture into 15ml culture tubes, then make drying cartridges from 15ml reservoirs(just empty cartridges) filling them about 3/4 full of sodium sulfate, using vacuum to pull the extract slowly though into another culture tube before doing the evaporation step.

UCT, (United Chem Tech) may have some videos on their site also that will help, or at least some application notes.
The past is there to guide us into the future, not to dwell in.
