Hello everyone. I have problem with baseline of GC with headspace. Three days ago we made analysis of vasopren tb and the baseline was with some negative peaks. I think that they are detectors peaks, but I don't how to make them disappear. A week ago there was no problem with the baseline. The GC is Shimadzu-2014 with FID and the Headspace is PerkinElmer turbomatrix-40. We use nitrogen for carrier gas for the GC and for the headspace, and hydrogen and air for the burning of the FID. We measure the flow from the split of the GC and the flow meter show 130 ml. I think this is very much, because the split was set to 30 ml/min. and the transfer flow from the headspace to the GC was set to 50 ml/min. So the flow meter should show about 80 ml/min. instead of 130 ml/min. We used capillary column. I can upload few chromatograps but don't know how. If someone know how to fix this problem please to tell.
Thank you

Did you equilibriate yor column at high temp for 2-3 hours to burn out any partcile/impurities in the column?
