A brief search in the literature turned up one study where cyano columns were tried in normal-phase mode to separate peptides. The peptides did not bind the column. This article was published 10 years ago.

Does anyone have experience separating peptides/proteins using cyano support in normal phase LC?

Some people call HILIC "aqueous normal phase" chromatography. If you mean this, please find the addres to a presentation that contains a peptide example in HILIC.

I was looking for an alternative to reverse-phase as another level of separation with different selectivity. The target peptides elute with 30-40% MeCN on C4 columns during reverse-phase mode. I'm not sure that would be considered a very "polar" peptide.
