CP-3800 column pressure problem

Hi,

I'm trying to set-up a GC that hasn't been in use for a few years. It has a front 1079 injector, a front TCD and a middle FID. We attached the column to the FID and bypassed the TCD (not sure if it is ok to do this though). I followed the instructions in the manual and set-up the parameters according to the column I have. 1079 injector pressure is set to 25 psi, and after setting the temperature program, I did the constant flow programming and a pressure program was established by the gc. now the column pressure in the first page of status screen (front) gives a value of 12.1 psi but the second page (middle) shows 10 psi as the set value and 6.7 psi as the actual value with a not ready message. I haven't used a GC before, therefore I have no idea what causes the problem. I would appreciate any suggestions/comments. Please let me know what information I need to provide.

Thanks for helping!

Haven't used a 3800 in awhile, but I'd guess that the column length and diameter entered into the GC don't match that of the installed column. These parameters are used by the EPC to use pressure to set a flow.
