CAGBootp

Hi, all -
For some reason, my cagbootp is searching my internet connection instead of the jetdirect card. If I unplug the internet cable, the cagbootp finds my system. However, when I plug that cable back in, the connection is lost.
Any suggestions?

ps: I much prefer the BusLace setup on Waters, but whatreyougonnado?

Under advanced settings in Network Settings, move your instrument NIC to the top spot. That may help.
PS - BusLace is going away. It's already gone on newer detectors (they're ethernet) and will probably no longer be an option on the LCs before much longer.

Thanks, DR. That's what I thought would work, but I didn't know how to make it happen.
However, I tried it, and it still doesn't find anything. I don't even get a message saying it HASN'T been found.
My tech rep suggested changing the IP address of the HPLC, but that didn't work, either.

So, for now, I'm just pulling out the internet cable when I reboot, then plugging it back in after the cagbootp finds the HPLC and the system is running. This seems to work.
My technical rep thinks it has to do with the network assigning a new IP address for internet/server access each time instead of having a static IP address. This doesn't make much sense to me, but I'm not much of a computer guy.

Static IP helps?
