Hi All
who has an idea to know which packed columns to analyze about these halogenate in below:
Methyl bromide CH3Br

Dibromomethane CH2Br2

Dichloromethane CH2Cl2

Bromodichloromethane CHBrCl2

All above in range of 20-3000ppm mol/mol
and what kind of Detector will have good response for all these components.

Thanks in advance

I dont' have them handy, but it may be worth looking at the EPA halocarbon methods.

LDCCL,

Supelco has a packed column guide that I find very useful. Bulletin 890B, download available from the web. In it they show a VOC chromatogram that covers the compounds you are interested in on an SP-1000 column starting at 45C. It is not isothermal. At 3000 ppm an FID will probably work for these compounds. At 20 ppm you will probably need to look at an ELCD, an ECD, or a DID for these compounds unless you inject a pretty substantial volume.

Best regards.

Thanks AICMM, I have alredy conntact the supelco and buy a SP1000 packed columns, just i am not sure FID whether has good response for those halognenated compounds, if doesnt work, i will on DID in another GC of ours.

Thanks again,ACIMM
