I am having problem(s) with our software, which I am just learning. I had several uneventful runs last week, but since then we altered our gradient parameters and now when we start a run it just says "equilibrating run" indefinitely and never starts (I have waited an hour before stopping it). Has anyone else had this problem and what did you need to adjust to fix it? The computer runs Windows, I am not sure what version but all the accessory programs are in Windows 2003 so I am guessing the OS is pretty old too. The components connected to the computer are:

DGU-20A3 degasser
LC-20AD Liq Chromatography- 2 pumps
CBM20- COmmunications Bus Module
SIL-20 AC autosampler
SPD-M20A Diode array detector
CTO-20A Column oven

call shimadzu service or check system configuration - if I remember there was something going with the configuration

call shimadzu or ask person who worked there before, surely happened more than once

Some simple ideas from a simple person:

In the Instrument Setup check the System Controller tab and make sure the Equilibrate option is not set for some very long time (or disable it). Also look at the Baseline Check tab and make sure if you have any of these options enabled that they are reasonable values.

You also may simply need to rinse or purge the autosampler. If something "abnormal" happens it may lock up and say it is ready for an injection but it won't do anything until you either rinse or purge the autosampler.
