Benzidine Matrix spike recovery by EPA 625.1

We are having problems to recovered benzidine in the matrix spike using an effluent sample. Did any one have an idea on how to solve this problem ? I'll appreciate all your comments.

What do you mean by problems recovering benzidine? Very low % recoveries are common for the benzindines even in blank water.
Are seeing any recovery at all?
