I have purchased imidazole for Ion Chromatography buffers from one company for a long time and I was impressed with the low A280 absorption of the imidazole in my buffers. Recently we received a new lot and now the imidazole absorption is through the roof to where it is beginning to mask peaks. Does anyone have a lead on really pure really low absorbing imidazole for biological use?
