Hello;
I'm now upon start developing a mehod for atorvastatin and its metabolites analysis using Ms/Ms (API5000)

my questions are ,(1)is it possible for MS/MS to defrintiate the two metabolites and do accurate detection and quantitation depending on their different parameters like DP,CXP,CE although they have the same Q1 and Q3 masses.
(2) dose it need a special type of columns to seperate them( ortho and para hydroxy atorvastatin)or an ordinary C18 column can do it

(3) if there is any one have experience with YMC column from water to tell me about it because i have two literatures use it in this case and I haven't ever been use it.

Thanks.

1) I think it's quite impossible to do it unless they have a completely different msms spectra.
2) Let's give an opportunity to a phenylic column with a methanolic mobile phase.
