:?:
my doubts is,GC is more sencitive than HPLC .
GC is useful for especialy for volatile compouds,so all organic compounds having volatile nature ,
why we are not useing GC for all oganic compounds,
Which samples are analysed GC
why we are useing RI detecter as a universal detecter, every compound in universal different RI .
why not find out all compounds by UV detecter.

All analytical instrument has some limitations.
We can not analysed all organic compound because some compound may not volatile and some may be heat sensitive.
Every compund has Refrective Index in liquid medium due to that all compound can be analysed with RI detector.
UV detector does not provide any information about sigma bonds. Therefore saturated compounds can not be analysed by UV spectrum.
