Hi,

I am going to analyze iprobenfos on GC . I am using CPCIL 5CB but the peak elution is unconsistant. I am using 130 degree temperature for injector. Apart from this teperature the peak shapes is not good and ghosts peaks was eluting continuously.
CAn any body tell me that what is the column and which is suitable for this compound. CAn injector temperature will play role in analysis.
Best reards

Praveen,

Do you have any references for the GC analysis of this compound? It's always best to try to find an application that provides the settings for the GC so that you can try to repeat those.

In most cases, the injector of a GC is set at 200-250 C, unless the compound is thermally unstable or other conditions exist. Injector temperature, column temperature, detector temperature, and carrier gas flow rate are all very important parameters for any analysis. Of course the proper column is also important. Without more information, we cannot offer more help. Perhaps someone else has done this analysis and can offer the correct information but you should try to obtain as much as possible also.

There are some references out there, for example https://www.chem.agilent.com/Library/ap ... 3578EN.pdf or http://www2.shimadzu.com/applications/gcms/m217.pdf - and I'm gust going down the list of hits for a search on "iprobenfos analysis GC"

Dear praveenpaliwal

It looks like you're doing pesticides.
Do you have properly deactivated liner?

Column is correct.
How old is the liner?

Sounds like a organophophorous pesticide, actually ( phosphorothioates like).
try this:

EPA 8141B " organophosphorous compounds by gas chromatography", so the detectors could be FPD, NPD or MS.

bye.
