Hi people!

Does anybody have a method for determination of methyl bromide in oranges?

I suppose that can do it by Headspace.

Thanks!

Given that it's a regulated pesticide, contact your national food safety authority for details of the approved methods.

A Google search using "analysis of methyl bromide in food" revealed plenty of methods, headspace and otherwise.

astroguille,

Headspace should work very well. ECD would be my detector of choice. A long volatiles column, or a thick film -1 type, or a Plot Q would be my starting point for columns.

Best regards.

This is also a routine analyte by EPA method 8260 using Purge and Trap which can handle soil/solid samples. The method is located at:

Thank you people!
