How to analyse amino acids with GC?

Discussions about GC and other "gas phase" separation techniques.

Hello to everyone.
I want to ask if someone knew if it is possible to analyse amino acids with Gas chromatograf or with head-space? Because i bought amino acids, to drink them when I go to the gym, and it is interesting to me how can I see if they have everything that is written on the label. I search on the internet, and find some info-how to analyse them with HPLC. So my question is if anyone know and can tell me a method with which I can examine them?

Phenomenex has a kit for derivatization and GC analysis of amino acids.

I have not used this kit and am in no way associated with the company so I cannot offer any comments on its use.

GC is possible, the Phenomenex kit is a good way to go if the amino acids you are interested in are in the kit.

Headspace doesn't work well for amino acids, the volatility and partioning are not good for a volatiles technique.

Thank you for your answers. Can someone tell me how much is the praise of the kit? I try to find it on the website but I couldn't found it anywhere.

Here is the web page reference

You will have to contact Phenomenex by e-mail to get a price after you choose which kit you are interested in.
