AS3000 autosampler and loose vials

Is anyone using the AS3000 autosampler with a tray and having problems with the vials lifting out of the tray? The vial stripper does not really appear strong enough to strip the vials so my customer is having to put extra tape around the vial to keep it secure in the tray.

Anyone else have a similar experience and possible solution?

Best regards.

I've had this happen on our AS3000 when the syringe is installed incorrectly - i.e. the needle protrudes from the base of the syringe holder (it shoud be flush or just inside the base of the needle guide). When the needle protrudes, it grabs and holds the vial by the septum when it retracts from the vials, thus lifting the vial out of the tray.

Another (remote) possibility is that a syringe is fitted with the incorrect needle gauge. If the giameter of the needle is too large, it is more difficult for the springs in the autosampler syringe holder to pull the needle out of the septum, with the same effect.

good luck

Tony,

Thanks for the tips. I will see if these are issues with the AS3000 although I am pretty sure the needle is not sticking down, having looked pretty closely at the injection tower.

Best regards.
