Does anyone have a rather generic sample prep - microwave assisted extraction for pesties/herbies from fruits and vegetables? I have a CEM Mars unit.

not for the microwave...but have you thought about using the Quechers-Method? Quite universal, validated for some 200 pesticides, and quick and easy.

Since modern pesticides are designed to degrade in the presence of heat and water to reduce persistance in the environment I would be cautious in the use of microwave extraction. It may work, but stability studies of the analytes of interest in a fruit matrix would be in order.

I know that a few years ago the Florida state lab and the California state lab charged with pesticide residue analysis used a modified Luke extraction process.

A lot of labs are going to the Quechers method, it is rapidly becoming one of the standard preparations for this type of analysis.

Quechers is quickly becoming the popular choice.
