Our lab recently purchased a Finnigan LCQ Deca with the Surveyor LC module. The vendor expressed an issue with the computer's COM port and resolved to provide us with a Serial-to-USB cable for connecting the pump and the computer. After instrument configuration, each module was able to communicate with the computer and Xcalibur software. However, while using the 'Direct Control' option to pump mobile phase through the system, the Surveyor pump simply stopped and gave an erroneous pressure reading (-1.$ bar). I attempted to restart the flow (1000 uL/min, 20/80 H2O/ACN), but was prompted with an error message reading "Method contains invalid valve proportions." However, I cannot find any invalid parameters in my method. I am able to have intermittent control over the instrument, but it ceases communication irregularly. I have tried power cycling, reconfiguring, and switching USB ports with no success. I suspect this may be related to the serial cable provided me. Is this issue characteristic of a faulty serial cable or am I missing something? Thanks for your time.

Issue resolved, I discovered a driver upgrade for the MS Pump module that addresses this very issue. I anyone comes across this problem (most likely if you purchase a used instrument), here is the link to the driver upgrade http://sjsupport.thermofinnigan.com/pub ... asp?id=407.
Hi there, I need this file for my instrument, if there any one that may have the this file.
Could you please share the upgraded surveyor ms pump driver with me? The link you posted does not work any more. I have the same problem as the one you described in your post. Thank you!
