i do under the manual handbook .let the computer's ip to be 192.168.254.1 and the lc module system to be 192.168.254.2 ,and then i ping the ip ,it is all ok ,then i open the software online ,but all the module is grey. what is wrong ? any sugestion to my configuring ?

I don't know, but do you have a free choice for addresses? Ours seems to want 10.1.1.101 for LC system, and won't have anything else.

First of all check the proper settings in configuration editor.
-Be sure the ping response is coming from the instrument. Look the bootP or switch off-on while using -t parameter at ping.
-If you use this kind of ip adresses, be sure the subnet mask is harmonized between the instr. Lan card and the pc networkCard.
-Use direct cableing, and crossover cables and agilent bootP.
-Put the LAN (or JetDirect) card into the detector (or pump if no detector)
-Sometimes the windows firewall blocks the communication. Disable it.
-If you use older JetDirect card check the firmware of the JDcard by telnet, if necessary update by HP download manager. K0840 is OK.
-Enable the Other protocol of the JD card by telnet session if it is disabled.
These are my tips.
Give us some more information about what happend. E.g. replaced the computer, or reinstall something, or update and so on...
